i have a 15" TV ( ) and a 20" CRT, and it's just occurred to me to think about playing my consoles through my monitor! how would i go about connecting a:

  1. gamecube
  2. SNES
  3. N64
  4. Dreamcast

to a CRT? any help/links/whatever would be most appreciated :)

Dreamcast is easy as it had its own VGA lead, should be able to pick one up on eBay pretty easily.

The others will have to go through some sort of VGA convertor switchbox thingymabob™

If a computer is also attaced to said monitor, then TV card running through DScaler works pretty well in my experience.

You can use XGA box things, I have one, but it's pretty pants, quality is quite poor visually, but I'm sure it would be fine for stuff like SNES games. You can do it through your PC if your graphics card has a video in, which would probably be the best option using a program which I think is called Dscaler.

:( thing is, i'm using a Mac - i'll have to try and find an equivalent.

the important ones are the DC and the Gamecube - and i doubt i'll play the nintendo's when the Wii comes out ;)
