Playing Cstrike on one screen and playing a video on the other?

Hi Guys,

I'm currently on a crossfire setup and want to play CS while the Mrs is watching 90210

I've tried using multimon but every time i launch CS the video screen goes blank

Can someone help?

Right installed it but not really sure what to do. When i launch CS, the active movie on the other screen just goes black. I can move my mouse cursor over but when i click on the movie the CS minimises

Run CS windowed?

run CS in a window, only way i've found of doing this.

However, your main issue is that one of you won't be able to hear what is going on or your both going to be able to hear each others :O

if you got another soundcard you could maybe do it with the sound

Yup, this works. I play a ton of CS with a video up on my second monitor that I watch while I'm dead (which is most of the time) and this is how I do it as well.

would you be using Dvix/divx web player set to full screen?

Because if you are that's the problem. just set divx to compact/windowed mode and size it as big as you can on the screen (it will still be the same size as full screen) won't go blank then.

Tell her to get her own PC. Much better than any faffing around with workarounds. Costs more but it's worth it.

Or if you have a console like an Xbox 360 or PS3 so you should be able to run something like Tversity on your box which can stream the vid from the PC to the console, I do this all the time

Thanks mate. IT's been almost 2 weeks now, the CRHT nurses said i need to start talking to people again. Still got sorting out medication and supporting letters/interviews with uni forward too

She has her own PC but it's a laptop

So better for her to watch it on the big screen

Laptop -> Big screen TV via VGA/DVI out. Problem solved.

in game esc>options>graphix/visual > and there sould be a drop list with either "full screen " or windowed.

change it to windowed jobs a good un
