A little better as I know that PC's tend to compensate a bit, but still grainy when in full screen mode. Some DiVX movies look great, others are very poor - I'm just going to put it down to poor encoding I think. Gonna try and get HD content from now on as I have just succesfully converted and transfered to PS3 and it looks awesome
I have to admit that I've also found video to be pixelated when streaming to PS3. No such problem when watching the same piece of video streamed to the Xbox 360, so I generally use that instead. I'm guessing it's something to do with the PS3's codecs. Shame as I'd much rather use the PS3 due to running cooler and quieter.
Streaming was probably not the right word to use.
I share a folder from WMP11 and play video files from the PS3. I'm not using any form of transcoding, just the PS3's ability to play divx.
I appreciate I can place video files on the PS3 itself, and this may well improve picture quality, but I don't have to do this on the Xbox, so have no intention of doing it for the PS3. It's an extra step that I shouldn't have to do as far as I'm concerned. Sony provided the mediacenter functionality, therefore it should be as good as any other (Xbox360?).
I'm sure this is just a codec type problem that will be cleared up in a future system update (fingers crossed).
