I've just recently installed Vista and i'm having trouble playing DVD's. Everytime i try, Vista bluescreens and then reboots. Do i have to install seperate dvd encoding software like with xp or should it play DVD's straight away?

Is it all upto date? maybe you have to download the klite codec pack as you said well i guess thats what you meant when you said 'same as xp'?

i have vista installed on virtual box and although it runs really slow and crappy it does play in wmp i havn't got sp1 installed though if that make any difference shoudnt do.

All my drivers are as up to date as i can get them. The only one i can think of thats causing any issue is my audigy1 drivers.

In xp i used to install the intervideo pack that came with my mobo and use the codecs from that. I tried to do the same with vista but my version of intervideo doesn't like it unfortuantly.
