This is deffinatally a dumb question but... how do i get DVD to play on my computer?
Ive got a legit version of InterVideo WinDVD but it just wont play anything, and media player justs crashes when i try to play DVD's.
Media player might not play a DVD as it might not have the required codecs, however since you have winDVD installed it should be able to use the codec for that (I think).
I use VLC as skippi has mentioned above. I find it the best media application to play all of my DVD's and other video formats.
You can download it from VLC's website, here is the link to the download page (for windows):
VLC Media Player is very good for DVDs (infact good for just about everything, installs all its own codecs), not so keen on media Player Classic for DVDs, fine for Divx/Xvid....
I'd like to thank the person who suggested Media Player Classic a few months ago.
All the computers in the classrooms in our Skills Academy can't play DVD's and this wonderful simple small program has solved a major problem.
Only yesterday I copied it onto a Lecturers USB stick and he was then able to play his DVD to the class.
The daft bugger came to my office and tried to give it me back
