I seem to be spending more time watching gameplay videos than actually playing games, whatever I start to play the boredom factor kicks in after 10 mins :(

whats the cure?

I built a gaming PC only a few weeks ago and now I can't play anything for 10 minutes without getting bored.

I was obsessed with Tribes for a few days but now that has wore off to. :(

I don't think there needs to be a cure, gaming is an entertainment form like any other - plenty of people spend more time watching sport than participating in it for example.

some gameplay i like watching like a proper good cod4 match scrim for eg can be entertaining same as counterstrike scrims high end even though i suck hard at cs :D

I make missions for a small group of us who play Arma 2, I find myself making the missions more than any other part of pc gaming.
There again I don’t mind its quite entertaining in itself, well I suppose its all still pc gaming of sorts. Although it feels more like a hobby, than gaming..

I do occasionally watch gameplay videos on youtube, but not that often. However, if I do come across a really good one with lots of parts, I have to watch all parts even if its not all on the same day..
Some go on for hour and half or more..:D

.

I find my self watching streams of people playing games, more than watching tv... As for preferring to watch than play? Nah i rather play, but there are some games that i wouldn't play my self but like to watch instead, if that makes sense? :p

Yeah I definitely spend a hell of a lot more time watching TV than I do acting / writing and/or directing anything :(

I usually watch sc2 on one screen and play it on another. It can get confusing if I'm watching and playing zerg. It's inspiring to watch how well your games can be played.

Watching gameplay videos can be immensely satisfying, but like anything, too much of something eventually becomes a stale experience.

Sounds like you just need a new title to get you going again.

I watch gameplay videos before I buy a game, I like to see exactly how the game plays, how it looks, the sounds and general movement/physics of the game. Fancy trailers either ingame or fmv dont do anything for me if the gameplay isnt any good.

I find watching high level Starcraft tournaments is indefinitely more fun than attempting to play it!
