I just got a new TFT and have my old 17" one next to it on my desk. I just wondered whether it's possible to play my Dreamcast on it, using VGA or something?

Also how would I get sound if it was VGA?

You need a dc vga adaptor to play it on your monitor, i believe most of them have a socket on the box for you to plug your speakers into.

Completely correct.

VGA improves the look of games with a massive jump so I have heard, especially soul calibur and the like.

Sweet will give it a go. Kept my old Dreamcast for sentimental reasons, and now I can dust it off again.

Looking forward to playing Shenmue I & II through again! :D

It depends on the game, almost all Capcom games look rubbish from what i've heard while others like Sould Calibur and Rez look great.

i have one and it never made my PS2 look amazing, tbh.

That's probably because the ps2 can't do vga on its own.

grrr........

i really wanna get my DC out now, but something happened to the vga cable so i have to wiggle it loads to make it work... (go gets coffee and starts unpacking!)

I have a blaze vga box which I have had since near launch, a bit overused but I love it. going to hook it up to a 32" tft to see what its like. It was on my 17" tft before and never had any issues with it. if you can find a vga adapter I definately recommend it!

I've got one and it does, but only to a point... The picture is much better on small screens, but HORRIBLE on big monitors.

17" should be fine. But much bigger than that and picture will look carp.

yup just tested it, excellent on my 17" tft, but looked a bit fuzzy on a 32", however if you're sitting back on a sofa it should be fine :)

(nowhere near as nice as an xbox360 though, but that is to be expected)

Make sure you buy a proper Dreamcast branded box that has the consoles connector on it, not one that's designed for multiple consoles since those are only converters.
