So I made the plunge and set myself up with a Synology Diskstation DS918+ which I am currently loving to bits.
It's an absolute frikkin god send for me as I do a lot of drone footage and also motovlogging on road trips so its great to be able to upload all my footage on the fly and its all there ready when I get home to edit. Plus saves on having to go through soooo many SD cards at the end of my trips! Such a beautiful thing to have all the footage all stored and organised ready for when I get back.
Anyhoo, got it all set up and working with the apps on my phone and can access everything on my laptop remotely over the net via windows' own Webdav service but I cannot for the life of me manage to get my music library to pull into any media player - VLC, Itunes and WMP all refuse to add/list my music from my NAS.
Maybe I'm missing something or using the wrong method?
I can play music off my NAS on my android phone with the Audiostation app perfectly, but I really want to be able to also play my library on my laptop through itunes (preferably)...
Failing that I am open to using whatever software works but all I can seem to find is NAS media apps for apple and android - no software for windows.
I work away a lot and music is my life so I really want to be able to access my stuff on my laptop as i virtually live off the damn thing.
Any ideas?
