Playing PAL ps2 games on a NTSC PS3? Is it possible?

I bought a PS3 back in jan 2007, before the UK version came out. I have a bunch of PS2 games(pal) which I'd like to play some more(GTA3,SA ect) but can't unlesss I own a PAL PS3. Is there a way round the region lock?

So my question is, is there a mod to enable PAL ps2 games to work on a ntsc PS3? I know I'm not the only one wanting to know this.

Oh well, I guess I'll just have to re-buy those PS2 games on import from a US/CANADA website.

You could always buy yourself a slim PS2 for about £40 and save youself buying the games again....

True true but I don't want another console under my tv taking up space. I did have a PS2 but my sister sold it without asking me. :mad:
