playing PS3 online without a mic

Despite joining a MotorStorm lobby that said "Headsets only" I still haven't heard one person speak on that game yet.

Bought a headset on Sunday and have yet to get it working in a game, worked fine in a chat session with a friend of mine though.

I tried Motorstorm and R:Fom and my headset didn't work in either :(

havent heard one person on a mic on RFOM

i wouldn't use a mic even if i had one to be honest

i feel silly sitting in my front room shouting at strangers :p

Gotta say no chat support sucks the big one in PS3 Online, i cant imagine xbox live without it, how can you sort tactics with teammates/shout abuse!

I just plugged in my Sennheiser cans to see if they'd work as they have a usb connection that you can use instead of the 3.5mm jack .

Worked fine and were recognised by the PS3 so there is no real need to get a bluetooth set.

I use a Jabra BT125 bluetooth headset in games, in RFOM you have to press L3 to talk and I have have been in servers where there are people talking. I believe there is an issue with bluetooth headsets with Motorstorm.

but there is chat support in games i use it in resistance and in that game you can get your mates to join a specific squad within the same team and talk to them alone and work out plans great for clans

It is like most Sony online players are still shy about talking. XBOX was like this until Halo2 and now you can't shut people up on live. I am sure sony could have at least sold a branded BT headset at launch. It makes the whole Sony live thing feel half-arsed ( bit like no rumble).

My Bluetooth headset works in both games, but as yet there are not many other people online with headsets. Also there isn't enough of us OCUKers to have online games with just us. Much easier to talk when you have some idea of who the other people are, rather than strangers.

can we arrange a game this evening on rfom or motorstorm, get everyone to use there headsets and see how it goes it is the only way to test the chat feature.

Mine cost around £20 from a really large mobile phone shop.

Motorola H350

I'm up for a game this evening to test this out, just so we can clarify who has and who doesn't have working headsets. And maybe we might get a OCUK only RFOM match going ?
