Playing The Lottery

The best thing about the lottery is the satisfaction you get when you manage to recoup your stake. Something which isn't very frequent. A feeling that is well worth the stake. :p

I put my lotto numbers into site what tells you if they have ever won anything.

Mine have only ever won 1 £10 win haha....

£15 for matching 5 numbers, i lol'd
i think they are going to need to change things pretty quick or lose even more customers

Must have set prize funds for each winning combination, but the fact a lot of the numbers were in the 7 times table there's been an abundance of people who've won, there was only 55 people who got 5 numbers on Saturday, but 4,082 who got them on Wednesday. I'd imagine if 28 had came out, there would be the same amount sharing the jackpot, which would have been insane.

I read it on the BBC website somewhere.

The payout is so low due to number of people using multiples of the number 7

7,14,21,28 etc........

I always used to think 5 and a bonus ball would be a "life improving" sum of money.... £100k or something.

Ticket: £2
Odds of getting 5 and bonus: 1 in 7.5m
Payout £10k.

Right...

'Extra numbers to choose from'
I can't believe they try to make it sound like a good thing :p

I still buy 2 tickets a week via direct debit but i don't entertain the idea of winning. I would rather the jackpots were smaller with a greater chance of winning, as winning 2 million or 50 million would bring about the same change of circumstances for me. That makes the new raffle system a good change as far as i'm concerned but that's the only positive thing i have to say about the new system.

They allocate the prize fund poorly if you look at the image cainer posted above. 4, 5 and 5+bonus should all get a good share of the pie like 3 numbers do but they only get a small fraction. 5 numbers would be over 30k and 5 numbers + bonus would be nearly 2 million if they had an equal share. I'm sure there's a reason they do it that way as it encourages more people to play but it's certainly not the way i would allocate the prize money

If you had a slim chance before it seems even worse now with more numbers and £2 per play. I can probably count on my hand how many times I played the lottery, if I feel like throwing some money into the air I just take the £2 and place a 12 fold accumulator on Football over the weekend. Still get a nice sum with far better odds.
