I've got a handy little box that converty my PS2 output to VGA and normal 3.5mm sound connectors, so I can play games using one of my PC monitors. Video works fine, but I'm having problems with the sound. I can plug headphones in and it works fine, but I'd rather play using my PC headphones, so I don't need two pairs of them knocking around my PC.
Now, I found an old male-male 3.5mm audio cable thingummy lying around, so tried plugging that into my sound card's line in. And while it does work, its extremely quiet and low quality. And to get it loud enough to hear means I'm deafened if someone tries to message me through MSN or AIM.
So, I'm not entirely sure if its
a) My soundcard (Don't think so, my microphone works fine with that line-in)
b) The cable (Just tried it with my ipod-pc, and while its still a little quiet, its not as quiet as the ps2, though there is distortion if I turn it up too high
c) The TV box not outputting enough power? Dunno if this is an option, I know nothing about audio, just that I like hearing it.
Setup:
Vista 64
Soundblaster Xfi Xtreme gamer (With latest drivers)
Gadmei TV5830 convertabox thing
So, anything I can poke in my soundcard to help, or something? Any advice appreciated!
