This recently popped up on the wii u eshop! The physical version is somewhat rare and expensive, i always wanted it but not to the point of spending £80 on something i may not even enjoy!

However i took the plunge on the digital version yesterday and so far i think im really going to enjoy it! The visuals are rather dated but not to a point that they become unbareable at all, still extremely playable

Have a few questions about the game and wii u virtual console though!

Side quests, i seem to have picked up a fair few in the first town all pretty basic generic stuff but probably as its early on. However am i right in thinking you have to find the objectives and stuff by youself with out todays all to common big arrow pointing you where to go? If so i like that but can clues be found etc or is it quite straight forward usually? I accepted the quests but had to stop playing so not tried them yet!

And with the Game pad, can you adjust the screen brightness etc in virtual console games? On a normal wii u game you press the home button and its in there but doing so now brings up the original wii menu. Wondering if theres a way to bring up the wii u home overlay

Thanks!

to be honest, its been a while since i played this game, I cant remember the answer to your question about objectives, but its pretty straight forward, the game tells you where to go, although not by way of big pointy arrows, but by dialogue. All I can say is do the side quests, because this game is absolutely awesome and massive, a truly brilliant rpg, you will not want it to end

No worries thanks! Not had another chance yet but should be on it tonight!

I seem to remember there are points in the game were you need to exhaust all possible dialogue/side quests for progression, like in the towns. You'll work it out, but if you like rpg's then keep at this game, it really is good.

Been meaning to buy this on the eShop as I too haven't played it before. Would you say it's worth playing for the first time now? I enjoy JRPGs provided they aren't too linear.

It's a great game, but far too many sidequests.
They're all the same after a while and get really boring.

Had an hour or so last night and the side quests sort of take care of them selves as you play, no need to track most of them! Kill related ones track and say 1/3 killed for example and they auto complete, so no handing in required!

I can see the side stuff being just a way to get more exp as you play rather than offering any story additions, it seems like this jrpgs version of grinding! Not a bad thing, just accept all the quests and they complete as you play normally and seems to eliminate traditional grinding!

The battle system is really nice and its teaching me new mechanics all the time atm, seems deep!
