I'm feeling some nostalgia coming on....

I've not owned a console of any kind since my PS1 died many moons ago but I have very happy memories of getting in from the boozer on a Friday & Saturday and playing Point Blank 1 & 2 drunk with a bunch of friends.

Now I'm wanting to see if I can get another PS1 and rig it up for some light gun goodness on point blank to introduce my daughter to a damn good laugh (obviously not drunk!)

Now ebay seems to have plenty of kit available but I seem to remember some kind of adaptor thingy that had to plug into the guns but as I'm old my memory sucks and I can't remember what it actually did or why it was needed.

Any help from the other 'nearly 40' gamers among us?

The gun had a normal controller connector plus a composite lead coming from it which plugged into the AV adaptor you got with it, this then let you plug your usual AV lead in.

Scroll down this page a bit and you'll find an image of the setup, plus some other useful info, but yeah, a CRT screen is a must for it to work which might put you off.

Got a CRT Panasonic 36" TV boxed up in the garage and never really had the heart (or a fork lift truck!) to bin it.

Cheers for the link Nismo, its exactly what I needed, now I need to find 2 other blokes to help me unbox the TV. :D

The g cons are quite expensive on flebay mainly down to p&p. I picked one up boxed for 1.50 from a carboot. They quite common and it's worth trying your luck at them first.

I also managed to get a modded ps1 for 4 pounds.

Point Blank is awesome. I memorised Time Crisis, all the enemy placement, timing etc. Games can't get away with being so simple these days!

I only ever had time crisis and point blank games for my PS1, i even bought TC1+Gcon on day of release and felt truly blessed to play it when i got home! (Granted i was about 16 lol)
Both were awesome and point blank probably aged a lot better than time crisis but both still playable, expecially on your decent TV setup for the era of console :D
