Hi,

anyone can tell me how to good clarity (picture) between a ps2 and a dell 2405? I've already tried s-video (yellow) and to be honest the picture sucked so much, it hurts to see it. This also happens if i keep the native ps2 resolution.

Also what wires would I need?

thanks

The PS2 is a very low resolution feed and low-def sources don't scale well to LCD panels...that said, to make the best of what the PS2 is outputting, look for a VGA box (or possibly a component).

Go for a component cable. PS2 looks as good as it can with one of those and the Dell scaling the picture to fit full screen.

God Of War, Ghosthunter, Resident Evil4, Shadow Of The Colossus & Destroy All humans (only progressive scan games I have) look as good as they possibly can given their low res textures.

You only need the component PS2 cable and can select on the 2405 which input to use. You even get additional settings to adjust for the component input on the 2405 which are not present when you connect a PC via DVI/VGA.

when you say the "yellow" plug, it sounds more like you're using composite than s-video, which is as bad as it gets. If you get a component cable, the quality does improve, though as has been mentioned, you're still stretching a low-res picture. Personally I think it looks ok so long as you sit back a little.

Mine was perfectly playable using the composite lead into my 2405. I would imagine the high def kit would make a lot of difference. Yes, the red and white cables are for audio.
