In all honesty if you aren't going to 'aquire' the games by other means you should buy a PS3 and get them off the PSN store. That way at least they are upscaled. SCART looks pretty awful on a 1080p tele!

Yeah. This way you get upscaled as you said, plus a quality blu-ray player (if you don't own one) and the possibilty of playing good modern games to boot.

However, 10 & 12 are not available on PSN.

Amazon are selling PS2 Slims for £99.99, I thought they were brand new so was going to post them but if you read the comments some of them came wrapped in newspaper, rofl. I hate Amazon resellers.
 
I am waiting for my cousin to get back to me, he wants £20 for his PS2. I do not have the funds for a PS3 so thats why I am getting the 2. It will be connected to a 1440x900 PC Monitor that has RGB imput as it has a TV Tuner on the rear side. I still need to work the audio out...
 
Just use Ebay to get a PS2 Slim. I found a list of the various different model numbers, and specifically looked for later models, even asking sellers by PM if they hadn't included it. Also, I tended to look for listings which said barely used. In the end I got a late 2007 model, boxed with a couple of games for under £40 last year.

If you aren't too bothered about scratches or colour, HMV are always selling them for £10-£20.
 
Well. I got a fat PS2 for £10 in Game-Station today. Told my cousin to keep his. Won FF7, 8 and 9 with Metal Gear Solid for £50 on ebay. VERY happy chappy!!
 
OK. My PS1 games where delivered today. I have a problem. I have tried Final Fantasy 10 and 12, they work fine. The PS1 game however, I get sounds but no pictures...on any. I have no idea what is causing this. Can you help me?

My PS2 is chipped and I had to hold down the reset button for a few seconds to disable it. You may have bought a chipped PS2 without knowing it.

As the chip forced the code for the PS2 game so the console thought it was that.

I would try the game in a friend's console just so you know it is that rather than the console. If the CD needs cleaning I find warm water and washing up liquid is the best :). Certainly don't start using cloths on it though!

Works on my brothers as I tried it before I got home. How can I tell if it's chipped and how can I disable it?
