Playstation 3 5.1 Headset?

I use the Sharkoon X-Tatic II for my PC, PS3 and 360 thru a switch and it works pretty well. Another option is to try a Dolby Headphone setup like the Creatve (HQ2300) or the little box from JVC (SUDH1) which does the same.

One thing I have with the Sharkoons is you do see to get a fair amount of processing artifacts and noise where the HQ2300 produce a very clean sound.
 
Yeah i've been reading some reviews and they all say the same as you about the Sharkoon.

The Sony MDR-DS3000K look nice but a bit pricey, and someone else has mentioned a set of Pioneer.

I'll have a look at the others you have mentioned too, thanks mate.

It looks like the Tritton or the Sharkoon are rebadged versions of the same thing as the boxes and the headphones are pretty much identical.

The Philips aren't true dobly digital or dolby headphone.

Also been looking at these Sony MDR-DS3000K

They're about £145
 
If you get hold of the JVC box in this country (I found one place a while back) and then add some decent wireless or wired headphones thats meant to be about as good as it gets from Dolby Headphone setups.

Can get the JVC box for about £45 - its certainly the cheapest option, pretty hard finding reviews on it though :(

I have a set of Sony MDR-CD780's I could use with it.
 
Rather then start my own thread thought I would ask here. Are there any decent Wireless 5.1 headsets/headphones that would be compatible* with my 360? (and eventually my PS3 when the games start coming)

*By compatible I mean being able to use it for 5.1 surround sound and being able to use voice communications as well.

I ask because my PS3&360 are 10ft+ away and I REALLY HATE WIRES!, but seriously the room isnt suitable for a 5.1 speaker set-up. So once I saw those Sharkoon X-Tatic II I thought they looked perfect for what I'm after but unfortunately they only come as a wired version.

So really what Im asking is are there any similar to the X-Tatic II, but wireless? or should I carry on dreaming? ;)

didn't come across anything when I was looking which would have a mic as well as that'd need to be bluetooth for the PS3.
 
The built in Mic would be for the 360 with Xbox Live, I never intend to take the PS3 online anyway.

If I use them on Xbox Live I wouldn't be able to use both the 5.1 Headphones and a headset so I was hoping to find some that had voice comms built in. Those Sharkoon would be perfect, but it doesnt have a wireless version.

I've been searching for months, but I never find anything.
