Playstation 3 and LCD monitors.

VGA is analogue there is no way it will work with HDMI-DVI-VGA converters. You can use a HDMI to DVI-D cable and have sound going through optical out or through the Multi-out with the use of RC or Component cables. For a TFT screen to work it must be DVI-digital and not DVI-I and thats before HDCP compliance! That linux cable may work but i cant see the Multi-out port outputting much greater than 480p!

You can get one of these. It gives me superb image quality on my Samsung 226bw.

He's right

A DVI to VGA adaptor will only work using a DVI-I source - that is one with an analogue component such as the output from your PC graphics card

HDMI is digital only - it's basically DVI-D with audio - so a DVI to VGA adaptor will not work
