Howdy,

I'm gonna buy a PS3 online next week (mainly for Sigma) to go with my xbox 360 and Wii, but before I do I need to buy a Netgear Switch (from OcUK of course) for my network as I have run out of ports.

But before I buy that, I need to know if the PS3 comes with an ethernet cable? If not Ill add one to the basket here at OcUK. Dunno if it is just me, but I cannot find for the life of a me a website that lists the contents of the PS3 box?

Could someone tell me if the 60gb PS3 comes with a Ethernet cable as standard? And also, whilst your here, could you list everything else that comes in the box please... might be useful for someone else as no other place seems to list it :)

If you really badly want Ninja Gaiden Black with better graphics go for it, personally I wouldn't bother getting a PS3 until August at the earliest.

(Maybe not even until September since Heavenly Sword is the only game that screams killer app to me)

Yeah I really want Sigma, I never completed Gaiden on the old xbox which was a shame, and this version looks great! I also want it for Heavenly Sword, and of course MGS4, I know they are not released for a while, but Sigma has given me the urge too much! Also I like the look of Resistance!

It will take a lot to beat the 360 for me, but my 360 is at MS for the 2nd time now, so I want sumin else to play in the mean time!

It comes with an ethernet cable,AV cable, Sixaxis controller and USB charging lead, mains lead and instruction manual, I think thats it.

Thanks mate! When you say, USB charging lead... is that like the Play and Charge kit I have for my 360? So the SIXAXIS don't take AA batteries by default like the 360 pad does then? Thats cool!

SImilar, except you cant charge the pad when the consoles off. Oh and the lead is very short so its probably unlikely you'll be playing and charging at the same time unless you get an extension cable.

Just a standard mini USB socket on the front the controller, think the leads a couple of meters or so. Some people think its to short , you can always get a USB extension cable for a couple of quid if you dont think its long enough. The battery is non removable (like an Ipod), If that battery starts reducing charge time you can send it back to Sony for a free of charge replacement. Dont quote me on the FOC thing its just what i have been told though.

You can charge it any USB slot though, i got a USB cigar lighter socket from the pound shop, can plug any USB device into. I was going to a mates once and forgot to charge one of my controllers so I charged it in the car on the way !

Yeah, if I notice my battery is getting a bit low, I just plug it into the PC if the PS3 is off. No bother.

In concept it's nice, except when the battery dies (and it will eventually) you have to replace a £35 controller instead of a £10 battery.

It's also a little (lot) too light for a lot of peoples likings.

Good console though.

Well Sony feels for you starving gamers, so even though the party line is that "it'll be many years before there's any degradation in terms of battery performance," a spokesperson confirmed to Gamesindustry.biz that "we will be providing a service to exchange these items." Unless the service consists of an CSR giving you directions to the nearest GameStop, it would seem like Sony is planning on replacing dead controllers for free, which is a pretty nice feature in this world of planned obsolescence.

how does the play and charge kit work charging pads while the console is off ?
The 360 fans stay on when you turn the console off, only when the controller is charging. (Or maybe it's the PSU fans, can't remember)

It's very quiet anyway, then it turns off when the controller is charged.

Yeah I sometimes do that as well - or I just leave my console on folding. The PS3 controller charges a lot quicker than the 360 one don't you think?
