Playstation 3 Controller Keyboard Priced and Dated

Unfortunately mine just doesnt do that - I could be in the next room and its happy going up and down my XMB quite merrily.

Maybe I need Ghostbusters to get rid of Rentaghost? :p

P.S. Sorry about skipping out on Res2 earlier - friends came around earlier than expected :p

I haven't used it in XMB, although reading a review someone said it moves past items he wants in XMB, but yours sounds like a dodgy laptop touchpad or a trackball mouse with dirt in it.

It takes me 3 swipes from left to right to traverse the XMB from left to right and it takes me far too many swipes to traverse down through friends list. Having said that it feels no more imprecise than I would expect using a mouse (analogue) device to perform in a Digital type menu (ie left, right, up down).

It is useless for XMB, I would give it a wipe, calibrate it and try in web browser.

I'd consider it if it was £15, but that's simply overpriced!

EDIT: Just read further in the thread and seen that you can get it for less than £20...makes it a lot more tempting!

Consider the tech it uses - you try and find a capable BT HID keyboard for the price from a reputable manu - definitely worth £20 - love the fact I could use it on my PC so I dont have to be right at my wired keyboard all the time...

P.S. Needed to re-calibrate it a couple of times and as you said rp2000 the shake just went - dno why it didnt when I did it first time - maybe because I was charging it at the time

tbh, Orginally I thought it was overpriced (£24.99 is RRP iirc).

Having said that, it is a bluetooth keypad/keyboard and it has a built in rechargable battery and works on devices apart from PS3 as well. Suddenly doesn't seem like bad value (to me). Wireless stuff costs more money, usually due to licensing/certification costs.

It is easy for me to say though as I got it for £18 (which you too can, easily :) )

Does this charge via the mini D type USB cable that we use to charge our controllers or does it have it's own mains adaptor?

Hopefully going to be picking up that Pelican Charging Stand tomorrow and would like to know before I leave for work in the morning! ;)

Yeah it uses a mini USB. If i were you i'd hold off and buy the official sony charger as that plugs into the mains and i'm unsure whether things like the headset/keyboard would fit in the pelican charger.

well i'm rather impressed. the touch pad mode isn't perfect but more than usable, if you consider the price you really couldn't ask for more. Typed this on it so it clearly works even with my chubby fingers.

Just bought it. Think the charger is brilliant. Lights up red when charging and green when charged. If the headset and keypad don't fit into the ports then I could always attach a USB cable to the side of the charging stand and charge them that way. Fantastic bit of kit.

Does anyone else get slight "chafing" of the analogue sticks against the clip of the keypad when you rotate them fully? Slightly annoying....

How big is this when it's in it's original packaging?
I ordered it on Monday from a jersey based retailer and was wondering if I should be looking out for a jiffy bag, or a box?

I ordered it from the same place (turned up on Saturday - pre-order and came in 1day from THEM  ) and it came in an A4 jiffy bag...

Just a quick heads up:

The keypad is fitted perfectly, but I can definitely confirm that there IS an issue with chaffing on certain pads.

The Sixaxis which I got with my 40GB machine (solid black plastic) is absolutely fine, but my two launch pads (the cheaper slightly see-through plastic) both chafe against the clip with the tops of the analogue sticks.

So there must be some sort of difference in size/position of the analogue sticks on the older pads...

Cheers,

Suman

Rats, that means I could have had it delivered to my house.
I got it sent to my work in case it needed a signature, hopefully it's not lost in the system somewhere...

Got mine today as well. My Dualshock 3 analogue sticks do chaff against the side of the keypad clamp a little but it's only very mild and not really that big an issue for me.
