Playstation 3 fan always runs while in standby mode?

hi,

when my playstation 3 is in standby (the red light) if i listen carefully i can just about hear a fan running inside. i havent turned on the ps3 all day but the fan is still running.

is this normal?

Mine does it too. Mind, im always folding on mine when not in use.

Have you set it to remote start? That sometimes keeps the fans running as it consuming more power than normal standby.

ah yeah, its set to remote start, ill try turning that feature off. just dont want the fan to wear out having them running 24/7

interesting to know I turned that feature on to try it out. Don't really want to wear the fans and leccy is dear.

That is the reason I don't use Remote Start, I hate fans
