Right i'm hopefully getting a PS3 later on but i'm not sure what games to get with it.

I'm definately getting Forumla one, and Resistance but i'm not sure about Motorstorm? What are peoples opinions on it is it worth getting or should i hold of for some of the new realeases coming in the next few weeks? Thing thats puting me off is the thought of it being another racing type game.

Or are there any other games i should think about? I might hold off and just get those two, as even though i can afford to buy it, might be a good idea to save the money i would off used to buy Motorstorm on a new release as may not be able to afford in a few weeks, probably drink it all away :D .

Right thanks, i'm mainly just looking for peoples opinion of Motorstorm and any other games that are out, Forumla one and Resistance i'm most likely to get, 100% Forumla one, Resistance isn't a definate.

Hi

As your getting F1 your next best choice would be Resistance imo its a great game onlne and off

I also have motorstorm this shines a lot for online play but i fnd the single player side a little bit boring. I got all these 3 games on launch and have not regreted buying any of them.

Game im playing the most atm is F1 :)

I reckon Motorstorm and resistance will be going cheap very shortly when lots of people start to unload them and trade them in.

You can already get them for £29.99 at a certain shop alongside Ridge Racer and Full Auto 2.

Try the demo's first though, Im considering full auto after playing the demo, looks lovely at 1080p.

This was my thinking, F1 i'm excited to get  I enjoy F1 on tv, and have wanted an F1 game for AGES so it was a must and it looks great fun, especially hearing people who have playing on here.

Is £29.99 new or used? And are these online shops or in town, and not allowed to mention?

Motorstorm and F1 are two completely different style of racers and both are definately worth playing. F1 is for the enthusiast so you will enjoy setting up the car, quali and race and putting in lap after lap to reign in the car in front. Motorstorm is a down and dirty offroad arcade racer with lots of crashes and exploding vehicles... chalk and cheese, but both great :)

You can't go wrong with F1 and Rfom they're the games I got with my PS3 and both are excellent. There's a demo of motorstorm up on the PS store so you could get the two games you know you want and try motorstorm first. I thought the demo of motorstorm was really good and I've got it on my rental list. When you get F1 remember to turn off steering and braking assist otherwise it is a nightmare overtaking and they are properly cheating anyway :p

Yeah i know that, i just meant genre, but even thought they are totally different i thought i'd probably get bored of it easily, unlike F1 after looking at the game and what you do. Although the online may be fun, i want it to be good single player too.

What did you get?
If you haven't been to get it yet then I would recommend all 3, however I wouldn't recommend Resistance if you are only going to play it in Single-Player, I found it a massive disappointment. I think I am going to add a review to my website tonight whilst the matches are on.

So Resistance is only good online? (In your opinion obviously) Does that make it worth the cost?

good both on and off, single player has one of the best FPS storys ive seen in a long time and some really intenese battles, the multiplayers just plain fun.

Resistance is a plain naff FPS. There's seriously nothing that sets it apart from the pack. No vehicle combat, generic weapons (even the fancy ones like the augur), poor linear gameplay, shockingly bad graphics, amateur narrative, etc etc. At the very least, don't expect another Halo-type phenomenon.

Motorstorm is probably one of the best launch games for the PS3, if not the best one.

Personally... yes. I think it's a real hoot online, it's just a completely different game!
It's certainly different to Gears of War, Ghost Recon 2 etc.. as it's more deathmatch and action packed, so I would recommend it as a purchase for Multiplayer. You never know, you might end up loving single-player, I'm sure some people out there do.

I am currently around 1/2 through the single-player campaign and it's just not doing it for me, I notice WAY too many errors, be it texturing or modelling.
It may just be that I spot more of these things as it's what I do, or will do professionally as of June, but there are just too many. If I was lead designer there would be some harsh words said.

Well i got the PS3 for £400, Resistance £30 (I didn't just plan to play offline), F1 normal price. All brand new.

I've just got home so not tried it yet. Possibly will end up getting Motorstorm will try it on demo first. Or may swap it for Resistance depending if i like it. Oh and i got F1 for free, as my mum gave me £40 for an easter present :D .

I also recommend Virtua Fighter 5 if you like Fighting games, it's very good.
Hope you enjoy it.

Cheers and will do soon, may not be for a few hours :( . But only thing i'm worried about is i forgot about the cable for TV, i have a crappy one in my room and a 50¨ HDTV downstairs, it has a HDMI socket, does it matter which version? Also how big of a difference will quality be from using standard cables?

HDMI is HDMI in terms of cables.

MASSIVE! I refused to even consider connecting mine via Composite, so much so it involved a 2.5 hour round trip to get a decent HDMI cable.

Well i don't have an option! :p But it will let me see the difference. I'll post my ID later :) .

Thebest thing you could do is get out at 9am tomorrow and purchase a decent HDMI cable. Anything around £20-£25 will do a good job.
