Playstation 3 or Wii

I've got until tomorrow to decide which I go for. I will be getting either one for free so I wont be loosing out, whichever i pick.

On a closer look, the only thing that interests me game wise with the Wii 100% is the Virtual Console. So it might be worth going down the PS3 route and selling it if its not what I want?

I was playing the mario sunshine level on brawl earlier and it confused me :p

Awesome :D

I thought you probably meant Galaxy, but maybe put Sunshine as you rated it highly or something... so I changed the quote to what I recommended.

Ironically, I'm looking for a cheap PS3 to complement my Wii. Purely because I don't know anyone locally with a 360 and I wouldn't mind a Blu Ray player now the war is 'over'.

On a closer look, the only thing that interests me game wise with the Wii is the Virtual Console / Cooking Mama / Endless Ocean. Which chances are will get boring pretty quickly. Dont know what to do, argh!!!

There are many more games in the Cooking Mama mould in terms of quirkyness. One being Trauma Centre (and upcoming sequel) and games like Rayman and Wario Ware. Some absolutely fantastic titles on the VC too - I think they've announced Commodore 64 games today too!

Kororinpa and mercury meltdown too.

Exactly. Both overlooked titles (by me too, admittedly, although time and money is at a premium to me).

Don't forget the WiiWare Channel which is launching soon - a platform for smaller developers (think one step above bedroom devs) and larger developers (Square Enix for one!) to produce titles like you've mentioned already Larnica. Not sure if it's comparable to XBLA - maybe Kreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee <3 could confirm (I don't own a 360). Should be cheaper games via this platform too.

Afraid I'm not clued up on WiiWare/XNA (Microsofts xbox alternative) development.

If your getting them for free isn't it wise going for the most expensive?

PS3.

Wii has no substance and isn't going to change anytime soon. It's for families, young girls and old women. You waggle till your arm aches on the abundant wiisports knockoffs. You wonder why you have to put in codes for friends and where the online mode is.

At least it can be used as a whiteboard.
(not a serious post btw)

Since you all ready have a 360 i would suggest the Wii.

Agreed, from what I have seen most games worth having come out on both. Where as the Wii has a nice different range/type of game. You certainly won't see games like SMG out on an Xbox or PS3

wii certainly has some decent single player zelda and metroid were bloody brilliant however once they're done it'll gather dust until you have mates round...

hence i'm gettin a ps3 :D

Hiya :)

I'm debating if I should choose a Playstation 3 or a Wii.

I currently own a Xbox 360 / HD TV. I'm not sure if I should go for the Wii because its different and has a handful of cheesy fun games that I tend to like (Cooking Moma, Endless Ocean etc) or the PS3 which would only be used for one or two games (Gran Turismo / Formula One).

Its a hard decision because there are no games apart from Formula One on the Playstation 3 that interest me, or any in the near future but its a BluRay player.

The way I've got it thought out in my head at the moment is "Do I buy a Wii, enjoy the games and buy a standalone Blu Ray player in the future. Or, do I buy a PS3 as a Blu Ray player but only use it for one or two games."

Any thoughts?

Many Thanks :)

Every man, woman and child owes it to themselves to get a PS3... It's a darn fine piece of kit, from watching blu-ray's to playing online games for free ! Thne there's the multimedia aspects...

The pee is exactly as it says on the tin.... a load of pee...

I've had all three of the latest gens and my ps3 is the most use.. 360 still gets a go for live arcade games and the wii, well that got sold off a long long time ago...

You're a bit of a tit aren't you?

Xbox 360 will never get blue ray.. microsoft were not impressed with the amount of sales of previous drive.

People moan about PS3 games.. well the Wii games are crap, I play my friends wii and they are basic and get boring fast.
