Playstation 4 Pre-Orders

So noticed that GAME are taking pre-orders for the console now and because I am excited like a kid at Christmas for any new console I decided to throw away £20 on the pre-order.

Anyone else gone ahead and done this yet?

If there is another thread about this someone I couldn't find it, but that may be because it's too late/early and I really want to go to bed! :p
 
We still don't know what the damn thing will look like apart from the controller. Waiting till the announcements of the new Xbox first.
 
I'm all for waiting to see a head to head with the next Xbox, no doubt the PS4 will be the one though I'll buy.

Good tactic not showing anyone the console though, it'll keep peoples interest and it'll keep them talking
 
I don't want anything to do with GAME (I've had nothing but bad experiences with them), so I'm going to hold off until Amazon starts taking pre-orders for it. For once I actually want to get a console at launch :p
 
I've pre-ordered with Shopto just for the sake of it, I will be getting the PS4 on release but will adjust my order to get the best one available if there is a choice of spec.
 
The days of me buying a console on launch day are behind me, up till now it's never been worth adopting a new console that early

I have ordered a 50" GT50 and it should be here at the end of next week fingers crossed. Hope more 3D or 2 player full screen is involved next gen. I will wait for a decent deal to pop up for the PS4, they drop price rapidly within the first year iirc.

People are saying sony will not make the same mistake again of pricing highly, but looking at the tech inside it, I do not know how they can possibly sell it for anywhere near £300 considering a PS3 500GB super slim is £200+ on it's own, and that is the 5th revision of the console which is barebones in comparison to previous ones.

You pay a premium for a pre-order console, because you will be one of the first to own it. Usually as I have found out in the past this premium is not worth it. Unless of course the release titles have made huge leaps and bounds in terms of gameplay, graphics and entertainment. The only way I will buy a PS4 near or at launch is if 3 major titles are released at launch such as COD, GTA and Gran Turismo. Whereas I bet most of the games at launch will basically be PS3 ports with a few PS4 only exclusives of which only 1 or 2 will interest me.

Yep would need an exclusive title from Naughty Dog (i.e. Uncharted 4) for me to get it on day one
 
I'll wait until we have an idea about the launch titles, there's no point owning it if there's nothing to play, especially as we can't use our PS3 games. I don't think I would pre-order from GAME even if they were the only company doing pre-orders. :p
 
This is a different age now, I bet there will at the very least be loads of classic games on the online store day 1 :).
 
Pre-ordered from Shopto.

The only reason is so that I can get shot of my 360 & PS3 from day one and move over to having one console.

It bugs me that I have to have two console's to get the best of both worlds (online & exclusives).
 
I won't be pre-ordering until I see what games are launched with it, and what follows in the months following. Will also be holding back until the new Xbox is announced.

IIRC? Is that from your prior experience of the PS4 launch? :p

Did the PS3 not hold its launch price for quite a while?
