Morning,

I bought a PS3 over the weekend and am having no end of issues with signing in. I have connected fine before and downloaded demos etc
I get 100% signal strength from my wireless router and the internet connection is always fine from the PS3.

Any ideas or settings which I may need to tweak? My router is a Netgear DG834.

Cheers,

David

I have same router as you turning off wep encryption solved all my probs for me, also make sure you have NAT type 2 in the ps3 network settings.

Thanks for the reply. I'm currently running with WPA turned on so may give that a try. Also I noticed that when I do a test uPNP is shown as enabled but once I'm using the connection it shows as disabled!!

Are you using uPNP at all? May upgrade the router firmware too.

There are issues with uPNP on the ps3 with some netgear routers..

I have it enabled on my router and the ps3 and the ps3 shows it as unavailable

I have the the most resent firmware for the router. Netgear are aware of the issue.

Hey guys. I'm also running the PS3 on a Netgear834G router. Mines the 834Gv2 model with the lastest firmware installed. As of yet no issues with the Playstation network at all. The uPNP also says unavailable in my PS3 network settings but other than that it works just fine. I can't think what else to recommend other than maybe updating the router firmware.

I too have version 2 of that router. May be I should just upgrade the firmware and see if that helps.

Thanks for the responses by the way.
