Playstation Network under Maintenance

Just switch on the PS3 and before i logged in (or tried to) a message came up and said that the Playstation Network is currently under maintenance. Never seen this notification before it even tells you when you try to log in. Is this new or has it always told you when psn is being worked on as i cant remember ever seeing it before. :confused:

I seem to remember this happening before, it came back soon enough. Check out the PS3 forums they'll probably have something on it, would do myself but stupid IT restrictions at work won't let me!

I can sign in fine and play cod4 online but the playstation store isn't working, i just get a error.

I cant sign into PSN but am surfing the browser fine - keep getting this error code - 8002A402 which isnt found using google...

Same error for all? No message other than i telling me it has to disconnect from PSN yet I havent even signed in...
