Thinking about getting Playstation Plus for the Cloud Saving option..

However, is it seemless? What I mean by that, is do I manually have to upload the game saves to the cloud and them copy them back locally every time I progress in a game?

Reason I ask, is I have three ps3's in my household and this is one thing I've always wanted. Seemless integration between all three in terms of game saves.

Jump on one box, save game, fire up another (under the same profile obviously) and go where I left off.

But to do this, it would automatically have to load and save from the cloud.. Not just allow me to copy it to the cloud (manually) via the Game Save utility.

Does anyone know.. TBH, I can't see myself using Plus for much else, outside of this feature, so I guess it's fair to say $50 will be wasted.

The manual uploading and downloading will make me not bother. I can do that with a USB pen after all.

It's not automatic no, you have to manually upload each one, which I personally think renders the service a bit pointless. It'd be better if it could be scheduled to be done daily (or weekly) just before the console shuts down.

Do you have any protected saves? Only reason currently that cloud saving is worth using IMO...

ps3ud0

What about if you upload the latest save onto the cloud..

Delete the local save on a different PS3, load from the cloud.... Won't it automatically want to save from the same place it loaded from?

I don't mind a bit of prepping... But would want it seemless thereafter.

Bah tis a shame.. Glad I checked on these forums first too before splashing the cash.

The day it's seemless, I'll be signing up.. But I won't be holding my hopes too high.

Sounds like games after 3.60 may have this as an optional feature to auto save to the cloud. I use it for my protected and most valuable saves, and fot that its worth having. Wouldnt want my PS3 to mess up and lose say my GT5 save game or my DA2 saves, with this i just back it up and not have to worry about HDD problems.

I think all this PS3 malarky is really just Sony tinkering about and trying things. I expect to see trophy sync, cloud saving, etc. all automatic in PS4. :)
