Playstation Plus Game Save Question

So I'm seeing an option to automatically save game saves to the PS Plus cloud.

Does that mean it'll now automatically load them also on every game? Or is that still a manual process ?

This could be enough to sway me over to PSN +

I use cloud saving for some games and I dont notice any differences WRT loading/saving, all i think it does is save them as normal and each night it backs upto the cloud.

I think it only works for some games. I got told what was synced the other day when I turned my PS3 on (I've only just resubscribed so it's never synced before) and it had only synced 2 games of about 10.

Yeah you get the option with most new games, I tend to say no to the option and pick any games I wish to back up.

My question would be.....does the PSN going down have an effect on this? I wouldnt want to be unable to access my saves if the PSN went down or even my own internet for that matter....maybe it auto creates a copy to your ps hdd too....worth asking tho.

Your save is backed up to the cloud, that doesnt mean it uses that copy when playing a game though as is never removes your local save from your PS3...

Loving the auto saves and updates - GT5 always up-to-date, though I dont know if it updates other games as much (not played GT5 in ages). They must flag something up on their end to show what patches are available for auto-update or something...

I THINK it will only upload saves that you have played recently. So if you have been playing Fifa and GT5 then it'll upload those saves but not Uncharted that you haven't played for 2 years. You can upload it yourself and tell it to auto do it in one of the menus. Unfortunately I couldn't find a "back em all up" button so had to manually do it for 20+ games.

I also noticed it cheekily downloaded the "From Dust" demo without my permission. Aww well.

Can you manually backup any game saves or still only for newer games?

I think you can turn that off too

Again its in the options for the automatic stuff. Just deselect the "we can send you stuff we might think you will like" option.

I'm sure I've seen it.
