***** PlayStation Vita Official Thread *****

It was much better with the grip, I think the issue is I find the analogue nubs really awkward and the position of the buttons in proximity to the right analogue stick.
The main reason I got it was to remote play PS4, I tried AC IV last night and whilst looking fantastic I found it an absolute dog to control. I also really hate having to mimic the trigger buttons with that touch pad on the back. If I could use my DS4 controller and have the Vita as a screen I'd be happy.
I also found the PS1 emulation to stutter in places, I was just trying FF VII and it was very occasional but it did happen in some battles. The poor Wifi range really gets my goat, it is truly dreadful. I do feel like I should maybe give it a chance though and get a game I fancy like Persona on there. I'm sure my 3DS felt awkward at one point.

Each to their own, but I do think that if there's a game that you really get into it would be a better indicator of whether the device suits you or not. I didn't really fall in love with mine until I played Persona 4 and Tearaway. And yep the analogue sticks are a bit awkward, especially over remote play, which is a great feature but not perfectly suited to games that are fast paced.

The only thing I dislike about the 1000 is the start and select buttons, I know you don't use them often but they're really uncomfortable to press. Apart from that I don't have any reason to pick the 2000 over the 1000, it's already slim enough and light enough for me.

Aye I just edited to say as much. I'm going to take a punt on Persona. I don't want to regret selling it too early, plus it's the only way I can play FF X HD as I sold my PS3.

http://www.vg247.com/2013/09/12/photo-comparison-of-oled-vita-screen-and-the-new-lcd-emerges/

in this one the lcd looks better to me.

the OLED looks too dark in some dark scenes and i have heard of black blotch and screen burn issues, although for screen burn you have to be keeping a static image for a long time and I have always bought plasma but I know OLED especially early versions of it is far worse than plasma for image retention.

screen burn is non existent on plasma these days but still an issue for OLED.

the OLED looks cooler (bluer) and oversaturated, the LCD looks like a slight green tinge but with slightly accurate more normal colours.

there is no definitive answer to which is better but to what you prefer imo.

I would really need to see both in front of me tbh, as with videos it depends how the camera is set up a lot it could have a bias towards one than the other.

also I heard OLED is bad for sun glare as well.

if I had to choose i would probably opt for the newer one because of battery life, bigger buttons and it's lighter and slimmer.

screen wise OLED has better blacks but I think it's a oversaturated picture on the whole, the LCD is more accurate but a bit washed out, not as deep as the OLED. I would probably prefer the OLED screen tbh if it wasn't so dark on dark scenes and have blotch issues.

it's not a easy choice to make between them imo, both have their good sides and downsides. if they had improved the OLED screen in the second version obviously that would have been the best of both worlds.

i really need to see both of them in real life imo before I can decide.

I'd honestly say you're right about needing to try them both, I was dubious of everyone raving about how good the OLED was before I got a Vita but it really is a wonderful screen to use.

So apparently the price of the slim will be £179, kinda surprised by that, seems to much. I guess ill be looking in to the second hand OG market then.
Brandnew Vitas are only £99 at my local HMV...;) (But that with No free games or memorycard included and it is the Wifi only version )

Don't know if they the new slim ones or not...

HMV are brilliant for PSN plus too if you can find stock, every HMV i've tried has never had any stock and some of these were stores 600 miles apart.

Anyone got a Konig easy grip they dont want/use? I had ordered one from amazon but the order has not been delivered. I am really gutted as they are out of stock everywhere again ( i cancelled an order on amazon.de when they came on stock on amazon and now they are gone from .de as well)

tldr if you have one and dont want it, i would be willing to pay full retail price . edit - I have started a thread on the members market.

Well this is being sent out to die. I don't know who Sony think this will sell to when the existing Vita has been sub £150 with a 16GB card and 10 games and still not selling particularly well.

Does it come with a memory card? I just checked GAME's site and it looks like it doesn't.

It has 1GB memory built in but no memory card.

Was looking at some pictures of the new vita and looks like they got rid of the other port that I don't think was ever used and will probably never know now (the one next to the game card slot). Pretty sure when someone asked Shu what the port was for or would have been used for he declined to comment.
