Playtopus malware

Yesterday whilst browsing I had a pop up come through and I thought this is strange since I use adblocker and never had pop ups or anything. I thought nothing of it and carried on browsing and now it keeps popping up now and again. I found out it's called "Playtopus" and it somehow installed itself on my pc.

I've searched around but can't really find a solution from a site I trust. I'm using a paid version of Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 but apparently that didn't block it. I tried uninstalling the said Playtopus but it gives me a error and I can't find it on the task manager

Hey, since you uninstalled Playtopus you might follow that up with CCleaner. I do this when I want to fully clean-up the remanants of uninstalled programs. Very rarely do programs clean up after themselves

I recently uninstalled a programs called HTTrack Website Copier. It left behind an option under the right mouse click. Ran CCleaner and blew that out of the registry.

Will give this a go, I stumbled across it but didn't know if I should trust it. Also the Playtopus doesn't show up in my task manager so will just try the other steps.

Run combofix.exe and Malwarebytes. That will most likely take care of it.
