I did the update a few days back, didn't see any difference apart from the upscaling is slightly better. It's all well and good them 'switching on' the HD, but it's no good to us Brits.

You folks are missing a trick. Play TV will NOT support HD when it becomes available in the UK.

The blog clearly states HD using DVB-T. The standard for HD being adopted by the UK is DVB-T2.

DVB-T does support HD and is indeed used by some Euro countries but it uses a helluva lot of bandwdth which is why the UK is using DVB-T2 instead.

Unlucky guys - Play TV in it's current form (hardware wise) is strictly for SD only in the UK.

Does this mean the footy on ITV that offers HD option for freesatHD when watching champions league will work?

I think you'll find I did mention this.

You didnt explain why and it could lead some to believe that you said it because Freeview HD is not currently available in the UK and not due to standard differences.

Ok, if you like.

I hope they fixed the oddly annoying issue of the last program button being a bit too eager if you press O to get rid of the hud just as the automatic closing starts to occur.
I've not tested that yet, but will do when I get home.

I'm super curious to get a stright answer to the series link issue, it's apparently really easy to add to the EPG, so god knows why they haven't and they've not given the slightest hint what the problem is.
