I have an old AMd 3700 with 1 GB drr Ram and a 160 GB HDD
this was my old pc but i have build a new one and i am selling it to my Father.

They currently have an very outdated and slow Dell about 7-8years old now.

I has i think 2 x 512MB DRR

1 x 160GB HDD (1 which i will not use due to being faulty.
1 x 320 GB HDD (has music on)
I was wondering what will be the best way to get best performance out of these components?

My plan was:

Reformat my HDD (AMD pc) and just have windows running on that

and

on the other 320GB HDD (from the dell) us for all there documents

going to put there current data on an external HDD then copy it over when HDD installed.

OR

Shall i just put everything on my 160GB HDD?

makes sense to use the 2 drives, saves if you have to re install windows.

remember to put the windows page file on the documents drive.

How would i go about that?

I am just about to reformat my old HDD. Then later i will (is this best way?) move the documents (dell hdd) off the drive onto an external. Then clear that drive (what would be the best way of doing that?) and once its all set up copy it all back over?
