Please advise, GFX needed under £100, quiet

Hello all...

I'm building a new system, first one in 4 years so I'm a bit out of practice. I've got the rest of the rig sorted, but I'm stuck on the gfx card... there seem to be many cards around for under £100 but i have no idea which one is best.

Noise is an important factor for me, I don't want a hovercraft. I also don't want SLI or xFire. Just a straight, single card, best performance and quiet for £100 or less.

I have a 22" monitor @ 1680x1050 and I want to be able to admire the beauty of World in Conflict at decent framerates in that resolution.

Also not interested in DX10/Vista rubbish. XP all the way!

Any suggestions gratefully received... many thanks in advance!

Would be my choice too.

Similar performance to my old 7950GX2 which was similar in performance to 2x 7900GTX's in SLi.

It also uses next to no power (for a performance card), has HD capabilities, is silent in 2D and barely audible in 3D.

Only thing that bothers me is that someone wrote in the reviews that you'd really need 512mb to run games at 1680x1050.

Also is it gonna be quiet?

for the games you're talking about the 256mb version is fine

try t o squeeze it to 512 mb
