Please advise if I should push my X2 4200 OC more

I'd like to try a overclock my Socket 939 X2 4200+ past my current 2.6ghz (400mhz increase). However I'm unsure on how much farther it would be safe to push it as the temps are getting fairly high under orthos on one of the cores.

I've had to increase the voltage from 1.350v to 1.400v to get orthos to run stable at 2.6ghz (236fsb) and I've also had to reduce the memory and HT dividers to keep stable (My ram tops out at 224MHz at the current timings and the HT remains stable up to 1060MHz).

My main worry is the temperature as one of the core is on average 10-14C hotter than the other and at worst one of the cores hits 62C while the other is still only at 48C (I'm using a Turniq Tower for CPU cooling).

So any recommendations on how I should proceed and how much farther can I expect to push the current OC? Perhaps I should consider lapping the CPU although I'd rather not as I may want to sell it in the future when I eventually upgrade.

I used to think the same but it's been reseated several times and when I was using a Freezer 64 PRO previously the stock temps were much worse. Never used to be as bad on my old 3000+ so maybe I'm unlucky and got a poor clocking x2 4200+ or both a HSF and CPU that desperately need lapping?

It could just be poor IHS contact on one core. Unfortunately there's not a lot you can do about this, short of removing the IHS.
