Hi, can someone please give me some advise on my pc build. My hardware specs are as follows : Corsair mem dd2 twinx 2 gb pc6400, silverstone psu 500w dual 12v , intel pentium e5200 at 2.5ghz(not over clocked), 320gig samsung f1 sata2 harddrive, asrock p43d1600twins-1393 with bios p1.10 , and two samsung sata writers. The problem is that when i try to install windows xp it loads the files off the cd, then i get a BSOD saying windows has shut down to prevent damage.Ive swapped memory round, took 1 stick out, changed drives round , set the voltage to 1.90v like it should be and still no luck. Can someone please advise me.Im hoping i just have a bios setting wrong.Thankyou for your help, Paul.

at what point does it shut down?
during windows setup? - do you get to the regional/language settings screen?
or do you crash just after the initial drive format?

I dont get that far.Its a new build. I get to where it asks me to press f6 to install optional drivers then i get the blue screen. The pc doesnt even get to the point where it installs the files off the cd.

Hi, ive just tried loads of different things, like took a stick of ram out, changed ram around, formmated the hard drive and partitioned it on a different pc, then put it back in, and i still get a screen telling me that the pc is shut down to prevent damage. All i get to is the Windows Is installing file screen, right at the boeginning when you boot from cd. Any ideas, thanks guys.......

Is the hard drive connected/connected properly? Mine used to crash when the hard drive wasn't working properly - wasnt connected, maybe you have a bad wire or havent connected it? Don't mean to insult your intelligence though ;)

At this point im open to any idea's ,lol. I have trried 3 diffrent sata cables, ive checked all my connections, everything seems ok :O. ps-thanks(any more ideas welcome, lol).

Maybe, yeah, i have noticed that there are a few bios updates available, so i think i might have to try updating the bios, then see how it goes. I will post back once i have updated the bios successfully ( quivers) :)

All sorted, i just thought i would post my results of my flashing of the bios on this motherboard. All issues have now been resolved and i have more features and options regards sata devices. Windows is now in and everything runs very very well. If you get this cheap £55 motherboard, make sure you update the bios before you do anything. For the money, you can go wrong, its very stable and runs well. Thanks for all your help, Paul.
