Hi All,

I currently have 2 AMD 5770's in CF. I play a lot of battlefield and Company of Heroes on 1900x1200 res.

I was thinking of upgrading to a MSI GeForce GTX 670 OC Twin Frozr Power Edition http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-170-MS

What kind of improvements will I see if any? Also, I don't want any bottlenecking.

I currently have a AMD Phenom II 965 @stock 4gb 1600 corsair RAM.

Is it worth upgrading?

Any other suggestions welcome. :)

Excellent. Anyone who owns the MSI GeForce GTX 670 OC Twin Frozr Power Edition got any input as to how the card is? I rather like the back spin to push dust away.

When I moved my component from my old case to my shiny new Coolermaster Cosmos 2 I noticed a spider had spun a web around everywhere it could and fried in the CPU cooler. Currently the 5770's gather a lot of dirt and are rather noisy :(

My phenom ii 955 @ 4ghz bottlenecked my 6950. Noticed a good jump in minimum fps and a slight jump in max fps when I upgraded to my 2500k.

Are you saying I should also consider upgrading to an Intel system? Looks like more money will be required for this! Anyone handing out free cash? ;)

No I'm not saying you have to, the 670 will still be a good upgrade but to get the most out of it you need an overclocked sandy or ivybridge CPU in my opinion.

Alright. Thanks for the input. I will consider an upgrade. Would anyone suggest an upgrade then for mobo and CPU? i5 or i7 ivy bridge?

My advice would be to go for the Gigabyte WF*3 and see how you get on. If you feel you need that extra bit of oomph in games, go for an Ivy CPU/MOBO.

The WF3 has a better cooler and will easily clock to the MSI clocks by spending 10 seconds changing a slider.

I see! Thanks for that, then again it is £30 more :( Is its really worth it? wouldn't I just be able to use afterburner to overclock the MSI card? Don't get me wrong the cooler on the WF 3x looks good but there is something about blue PCB that doesn't look right with my colour scheme. I suppose it's do I spend £30+ to save 10 seconds on an overclock and have a better cooler or last £30

All this advise is great by the way. I need to start coming here more often

What made you pick the Gigabyte WF3x? It's more expensive and has a slower clock than the MSI one

I picked that purely from the many users here and other forums who have been very happy with it. It appears to be the better choice. I have a MSI Lightning and am very happy with that. It uses the twin frozr cooler which I am very pleased with (a little on the noisy side at 50% fan speed).

Maybe I will just have to get over the blue PCB and go with the flow. The reviews don't lie. I see why you suggested it. Some great reviews up.

I am sure you will choose wisely. Also, give the sticky thread about Graphics card warrantys a look to help your decision. That would be a big factor for my choices. (nothing worse than having to wait weeks and weeks to get a card returned).
