Good morning gang

I must apologise for the ignorant question but... what GHz is my CPU running at?

Thank you in advance

Is there a saved bios profile to load?

Might be named Ocuk or something.

That’s what I loaded and still have a 2.8 clock speed, temps are low but could it be that I need to re-apply paste to get the clock up as its clocking itself down from overheating? temps 20-30 (lover perhaps) when in BIOS.

QPI link speed is at 4.8ghz, should it be this high at 2.8 clock speed? I had a quick read and it’s the “speed” the system runs at as I understand.

Speedstep maybe on, this reduces the speed when not doing much.

Run that CPUZ while stressing the system using say, Prime95 or Super PI

Turboboost speeds the chip up, so for stock its 2.8ghz with a 3.06ghz or 3.08(on my phone so cant check) turbo frequency, it maybe the turbo value thats altered in the ocuk profile.

So it hits the 4.0ghz or whatever speed its meant to only when needed or stressed.

I have downloaded the required software and will give it a bash when I get home.

thank you again for all your help.

I know what Turboboost does, would it be wise to disable or let sleeping dogs lie?

Those aren't our settings have you flashed the bios?

The memory multiplier isn't Set so your memory isn't running at the rated speed and the BCLK is too low. Even with turbo boost and speedstep the bios should still show the correct BCLK

If you have an order number raise this in the customer service section and i should be able to provide some settings.

Hello

thank you for your note, great to see Staff look and assist :D

I have not flashed the BIOS no, but when I went into the BIOS to make sure my HDD's were running in ahci and got an error "overclock failed" or something

could be the cause of corruption?

will raise a note now :)

If the overclock is unstable and the bios says that, then it will revert to the last known good settings depending on the board

yes overclock failed would result in the bios being reset.

press F12 and select the profile OcUK if it's there and press Enter then press F10 to save and exit .

If it's not there I'll find some settings for you.

Hello

I have actually done that, numerous times I might add and the clock stays at 2.8 :(

if you could dig up some setting it would be most kind :)

kind regards

Good morning

I went home and just to be certain i took off my heat sink, cleaned off the old sediment and re-applied new paste that arrived with my brothers cooler re-seated the heat sink and went off into the BIOS

followed the instructions provided I the email and first thing I found was that the multiplier only goes up to 22

so set the settings and got as close to 4GHZ as possible and stable (did prime testes will post further down)
