Well, I finally got my Xbox 360 and it's great! But, I do have two questions though which I cannot seem to be able to figure out or resolve.

1. How can I copy over my mp3's over to the Xbox360 HDD?

I don't have Windows Media Center Edition so networking to the computer's HDD is out of the question. I basically want to be able to access all my mp3's off the Xbox 360 HDD so as I can play them while I'm kicking butt on Gears Of War! :p

2. How can I improve the performance of my Xbox360 Wireless Headset?

I tend to hear myself back when I am talking to my friend over Xbox Live. I am using the Xbox360 Wireless Headset and so is he. We have tried the Xbox360 Wired Headsets and the feedback died down after a while but then it returned. I find that the overall clarity is better with the Xbox360 Wireless Headset and that the range is good. If only I could sort out the feedback! :o By the way, one important thing to note is that it is not a case of him haing my speech routed through his TV speakers (he has speech routed through the headset) and having his speakers turned up too loud. I suspect it is something to do with ports needing opened.

Thanks and much appreciation in advance for those who answer my two questions!

Whappers.

1. you can't. you can only stream music to the xbox via a pc or by plugging in a mp3 player/usb stick/psp etc

2. have you checked the 360 settings ? under "personal settings" go to "voice" and check it's playing through the headset only and not set to "both"

the wireless headset has had all kinds of problems which are well documented on the net. everything from connection probs to feedback, lag etc

Media player 11 allows you to share your music library with the 360 if that's any help

MCE isnt required to stream music, can be done in basic XP.

If not you need to rip it from a CD.

Normally you hear yourself if someone else in game has volume up high enough to feed back through there mic - other then that, make sure you dont set the voice to come out of speakers, just headset yourself.

Ok, I've been burning some of my music onto blank CD-Rs and then ripping them onto the Xbox360 HDD. This is fine for most albums, however for some albums it will only rip a few songs off the CD onto the HDD and not others. Repeated attempts to rip the selected tracks does not help and the CDs are not scratched at all. I figure it's not a copyright issue as firstly it's not connected to the internet when ripping and secondly, why would it rip 10 songs of an album and not 1 particular track? It baffles me really

Please help! :(

Thanks! :)

Whappers, why don't you just share the music on your network? Or do you not play while your PC is on?

Hang on, does this mean I can just plug my iPod in and listen to the music off that when playing games?

As Davey has said, yes, but obviously you can't play iTunes purchased music.

Sounds to me like you'd be best off just running the tracks from a memory stick...either that or purchasing a real CD in the first place.

or put all your mp3s on a memory stick and run the music from that, its what im doing. works great with pgr3 and test drive, :p

a bit OT but a quick question from myself.

What over games support your own music in game.

Well, I tried that last night and it worked better than I expected. The only hassle is that I have to leave my laptop on all the time (when I want to listen to music on the xbox360) and since my dad always complains about the electric bill, I naturally want to use as few things as I can get away with.

I just can't figure out why the xbox360 would burn 10 songs off an album and not 1. Anyway, I suppose I'll have to use the network then.
