having trouble installing vista on my shuttle (spec in sig) it seems to get to the last bit and then when restarting and just before windows looks like it's about to enter i get the 'blue screen of death' a reboot takes me to the same place with a different msg stating that i need to start the install again. I have the latest bios and using the standard on board graphics apposed to the 9600. My normal setup consisted of SATA disc and SATA dvd drive, however i found i had to switch to IDE DVD drive for the vista install to take place

Do i need a SATA driver or any preloaded drivers?
Anyone got any ideas?

If vista has installed on the Hard Disk, then you shouldn't need a mass storage driver as the install can write to the Disk. There is no harm in trying the manufacturer drivers though.

I don't suppose you happen to see what is actually on the BSOD?

It's worth checking your SATA modes in the BIOS as well, if you are unsure you might want to trying installing with the bios in failsafe\basic mode opposed to optomised defaults.

If all that fails, I would make sure you also have the latest motherboard bios. You should be able to download it from the shuttle site.

cheers mate, i have the latest bios as had another issue which is sorted now. But might try it on safeboot. Can't recall the BSOD but remember it was quite gerneric and not aimed at me or my shuttle. just stuck xp back on and trying the upgrade mode to rule out a few things, more thoughts welcome
