Hey guys, my previous GPU (HIS HD 6950 IceQ X PLUS Edition 2048MB GDDR5) became faulty awhile back, so I'm looking to buy an upgrade which will last me a good few years. Please can you point me in the right direction!

My system's specs are:

- Power Supply: Corsair GS 600w PSU
- CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K 3.30GHz Sandybridge overclocked to 4.40GHz
- Motherboard: Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard

My budget is £250.

Thank you very much!

Hey, sorry for bumping this really old thread. I never took the hit in the end and bought a GPU. Now that my finances etc are well, I'm looking again.

Games I'll be playing are CS:GO, BF, Batman (When released) and Witcher 3. I'll obviously play other games but these are the main ones I'm thinking of at the moment.

I want a card that I won't be replacing anytime soon (Year or two), and will have the potential to run games at a smooth and pretty high graphics grade. I like things to look pretty... But making sure it runs smoothly is obviously key when playing Multiplayer games.

My budget is between £150-250. Everything in my original post is the same; same PSU etc.

Please can you give me a few suggestions with links?

Thank you guys.

I have a 780ti Matrix Platinum and the build quality is the best ive seen. Do a quick check on dimensions though for your case before pulling the trigger!

edit: damn ipad

Hmm just looking, I think that GPU requires slots? Would it fit in the motherboard in my original post? Thanks guys. I'm not at home at the moment, so couldn't check. Plus, I'm useless.

Thanks again!

It will fit into the motherboard what it needs is space below the pcie slot which obviously we would not know without seeing the inside of your rig just make sure the space one below is empty and if it is then you will be fine do check the length of the card against your case as well as long as they are both ok then the card recommended is really good for the price although June will see the new releases from AMD and may see a shift in pricing again just too clear old stock

Superflower are staring too use cheap parts now? Never owned one of them but I do know they are well thought of here this is terrible news if they quality is dropping as a decent quality PSU is so very important too any system. I doubt that he will need too change from what he has though

TBH they have always had several series made by different OEMs, some of them of truly dubious credentials. What they have done with this HX series is especially tw*tty since it was introduced as a direct replacement for an earlier, high-quality series.

Kingston's adventures in the SSD-land with their V300-series is a direct, suitable analogy.
