After thinking long and hard i've finally come to a decision on what components to get for my new PC.

This is what i've decided:

The only thing i am worrying about is the 4870x2 fitting in the 590 case.

Can anyone put my mind at ease regarding this...

Thank you.

Get a 24" monitor if you can go to it. Me personally I'd get a full tower case (not sure if the centurion is - haven't checked yet). Go for a higher watt psu, 7 - 8 +, maybe a faster drive too. Most of it looks good though, nice mobo, will be a powerful rig! :)

I'd get an Antec 300 case instead. (saves a few quid)
If you're going to spend 250 on a 2Gb video card then you should get a 24" screen (1920x1200). (costs a little more)
I don't see the point in buying Vista now. Burn a copy of Windows 7 RC and use it until you can buy the retail version in October. (saves 90 quid, for now)

The AMD 955 outperforms the i7 920 in most games except Crysis.

I'm tempted to spend an extra £50 and get the Iiyama 24" HD monitor but i'm not to sure if the extra 2" will make a difference, espically if it's going to be the same resolution.

I would go for a full tower case but my room/desk is WAY to small to fit anything that size.

590 size - (W) 210 x (H) 440 x (D) 510
300 size - (W) 205 x (H) 458 x (D) 465

The 590 is longer which is better... isn't it?

Certainly is. 24" monitors are really nice, I recommend them. Personally I would change that PSU to a coolermaster/corsair etc

buy a coolermaster HAF 932 you cant go wrong:D

anyways referring to the first spec u posted above buy a cheaper motherboard gigabyte 115£ and triple chanel RAM wont work on that MB buy dual channel DDR3

buy a corsair 650W PSU much more soild to power your monster GFX card!

and Hard drive at least 16Mb cache tbh:D

The 932 is only 6cms longer, so not really worth the extra ££'s.

I've updated the PSU to the PC Power & Cooling Silencer 610 EPS12V 610W

I've updated the HDD to the 500GB 16MB Cache Seagate.
