I've decided upon the following, but it's a little over what I was aiming to spend, by about £30. Is there a cheaper PSU I could use, or shall I just bite the bullet and pay the extra? Any advice would be appreciated with regards to potential replacements.
I mainly want it for gaming, and a bit of video editing with a dash of overclocking !
Thanks

Swapping the CPU to a 4300 will save you around £20. That will overclock really nicely.

I would keep the corsair to power the 8800 tbh.

The E4300 is a cheaper option, and your ram is perfect for it.
For ludicrous overclocks with the lower multiplier E6300 then higher spec ram might be required.

However this is one of the most well researched specs I have seen in the last few weeks. I am suitably envious.

I presume you have an optical drive already?

STEALTH EDIT

Keep the Corsair - a good PSu is the foundation of a good PC experience.

Thanks for your replies !
Forgive my ignorance, but is there not much difference between the E4300 and the E6300 besides the multiplier?

artaxerxes - I've got an optical drive, but will be purchasing a Pioneer 112 within a couple of weeks. Mind you, I could add it to this order with the £££ I'm potentially saving.

Consider the Corsair kept !

nah, the 4300 is only superior to the 6300 due to the higher multi. nevertheless, it IS superior

perhaps look at the scythe ninja cooler? you'll likely get 3ghz fanless tbh

Ninja as masslac says.

4300

cheaper PC6400 RAM

Mobo to Asus P5N 650SLi, then the cheaper RAM won't limit your CPU overclock

No need to get the extra SATA cable, the motherboard should come with one.

Ok, so upon revision, my order will be the following (below). It actually works out £6 cheaper !
I'm not one for massivly overclocking as I'm a complete novice, even though I'm reading and learning all the time, so would this setup be better all round than my original spec? If I can play Oblivion with all the bells and whistles I'll be a happy camper.
Cheers again for the advice. It's a lot of dosh and I just want to get it right before parting with it !

Fair question. The 650SLi chipset has most of the features of the 680i, most importantly running RAM un-synced from the FSB. So you don't have to be too choosy about your RAM, as you do with the DS3 and P5B, as you can leave it stock and let you FSB go as high as it can, and let the motherboard worry about the ratio.

When I got my 680i I was umming and erring about whether to get it or the DS4. If I was building now I think I'd get the P5N, but the DS3 or 4 would be my next choice (or the P5B).
