Hi all,

pretty sure i have nailed down most of the parts i want, i was going for a just a core upgrade but decided to go the whole hog.

advise welcome and suggestions welcome

Enthoo Evolv ATX Mid Tower Case - Black
Gigabyte Z170X-Gaming 7 motherboard
Samsung SM951 256GB M.2 PCIe NVMe High Performance SSD
i7 6700K 4.0GHz Socket LGA1151
Corsair Vengeance PLX 3000MHz

So really now i need recommendations on CPUcooler and PSU (modular)

I'd suggest getting the Gigabyte gaming 7 bundle with the i7 6700K if you haven't done so yet as you'll save some money. For the PSU I would recommend the Super Flower Leadex 750W, I have this same PSU in my system and it's extremely good quality and if you would like custom cable kits are available as shown in my basket. As for CPU cooler would you like air or an AIO liquid cooler? For an air cooler I'd recommend something like the be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3 which looks really nice in your selected case especially as it's black. For an AIO cooler I'd recommend something like the H115i or any other Corsair AIO models such as teh H100i, H110i, H105, H110i GTX etc.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £870.47
(includes shipping: £12.60)

thanks Daniel,

i will read up and look in to these, for cooler the case does not have much intake so i guess what ever is the best cooling option

I have a 290x at the min. I could reuse my current corsair Rm850 psu as well and stick a lesser one in the old rig ?

You will not require any thermal paste with any of the coolers as the Corsair AIO cooler come with thermal paste pre-applied and the be quiet! comes with a little tube. You will have no worries fitting the H110i the case can accommodate it. And for lighting I'd recommend Silverstone LED strips they're cheap and work really well I use them.

Well If your PSU has the USB connection to motherboard USB2.0 header to control for LINK.

And you get a H110i GT for example which is also USB to motherboard for the LINK software to control it.

Then thats all your internal 2.0 headers filled up, so if a case has USB2.0+3.0, the 2.0 wont have any free headers to connect to.

OK I will do some reading up on it.

I am still undecided on the cooler at the moment. Any recommendations welcome.

I am still reading up on bits and bobs

ok ordered !

Yeah psu has c-link connection. So the H110i can be plugged straight into the psu ?

Not with H110i. The H100 and H80i are the ones that you can piggy back with a Corsair PSU that's C link compatible.

You'll have to use one USB header for each device. If you only have 1 USB header left available on your board, I'd connect that cooler over the PSU. The cooler's C link functionalities are more useful as opposed to the RM PSU C link features.
