Hi everyone,

Wanted to spec a machine on Dell - and then make one myself for cheaper. No need for an OS as have a retail copy I can carry over. Used to make a lot of PCs from parts bought on OC's but been out the game too long. What do you reckon:

Thanks so much in advance,

I would change the case to the antec 300

and the power supply to this

I take it you will be gaming? If yes consider this XFX Radeon HD 4850 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) only an extra 20 pounds but much better

I think with an overclocked i750 and a 4850 would ne a good sytem.

The machine is a buisness all-rounder. Accounting programs, Outlook, Adobe Creative Suite 4 etc etc you get the idea. The user likes to have LOTS open at the same time. Maybe a bit of CAD/PCB layout. No gaming at all.

Thanks for the case and PSU advice, will make that change. Have the go ahead now so will order it today with any suggested changes. Since no gaming I think a quiet machine seems more important over 3D performance.

Thanks so much guys - this is really appreciated :D

Great - thanks for the tip. What about video editing - will this card be OK for that. Most cards seemed to be aimed at the gaming market so it's hard to choose one for 2D applications.

Many thanks,
Dave
