I've been contemplating ordering a new CPU to replace my 3800+ for a while. Mainly for gaming reasons, but don't want to get one of the old quads just before the new ones are released. So i'm going to try and overclock this cpu to around the 3Ghz area if possible.

Anyway i just wanted to get the spec checked, as i don't want to experience any trouble putting this together, as i'm a bit of a novice. I've done alittle research and this is the spec i've come up with.....feel free to admend.

Abit IP35-E

Intel Core 2 Duo E2180

2x GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency

Tuniq Tower 120-LFB CPU Cooler

4x Xilence XPF120R Red Wing 120mm Quiet Fan

Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound

My existing bit to be used are a 8800GT, Sata 500GB harddrive, and a Sata DVD drive.

Cheers

thanks for the quick replies.

I'd like to get the IP35 pro, but at an extra £60 i can't really justify it. Is it really that much better than the IP35.

I don't mind paying an extra £15 for the IP35, if its going to make a difference.

I've not really set myself a budget as such. But i don't want to be spending a lot of money for feature that i'm not likely to use.

I don't use raid, and i've only just started looking at overclocking.

If i'm really better off getting the pro, then i may wait a few weeks till i get paid, or just stick it on my card. I'll check them links out before i decide, may ask a few more question once i've looked at them.
