Please check my spec.

Hi really want an i7 Sandybridge but on a budget for my Lightroom needs.

Could anyone check my spec for mistakes please.

Cannot go wrong with this as its what im building around
Intel Core i7-2600 3.40GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail

Mobo any pitfalls for getting this board?
MSI P67A-GD53 Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - (Sandybridge) ** B3 REVISION **

I hate Vista and a good excuse to update as win 7 trims but does the ssd
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit - OEM (GFC-00599)
OCZ Agility Series 60GB 2.5" SATA-II Solid State Hard Drive (OCZSSD2-1AGT60G)

Cheapest ddr3 memory on overclokers is this ok?
Corsair XMS3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX8GX3M2A1600C9)

Thanks Nigel

OcUK Motherboard Bundle - Intel Core i7 2600K & Asus P8P67 Pro Intel P67 Mainboard **B3 Revision**

May as well go for the mobo + Chip deal in that case and go for above to get 2600k?

Yeah, much better idea. The rest looks good to go.

Hi Guys

In my quest to be as tight as possible have revised my list again.

Any pitfalls or reccomended changes as dont want to get a i7 and have it slowed up because I shaved a few quid off.

Main change have ditched SSD drive as drive speed not really an issue for my upgrade and now getting win 7 + Drive combo.

Intel Core i7-2600K 3.40GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor with FREE Operation Flashpoint Red River Game

Asus P8P67 LE Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - (Sandybridge) ** B3 REVISION **

G.Skill RipJawsX 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL )

Microsoft Windows 7 Bundle - Home Premium 64 Bit

Thanks Nigel.

How about this one

Gigabyte P67A-UD3-B3 Intel P67 Chipset (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard

As the MSI has no support for 1600 memory unless you OC

Sorry completely out of touch on building so thanks in advance.

Its ok also. Again, even tho its got two graphic card slots, the second one will run at a slower speed than the first, this isnt ideal for Crossfire etc, if thats an option you want?

Thanks for your reply.

When you say slower do you mean the cards in sli or the whole board.

Have no interest in gaming anymore and am updating to a Sandybridge system purely for Lightroom 3 as its CPU only software and my new high res monitor is putting 115% load on poor old system when rendering images.

Thanks again Nigel

In Crossfire/sli only, compared to a board that runs both slots at equal speeds so both cards get the same bandwidth.

The slots maybe a physical 16X in size, but the actual pcb traces to the slots are completely different.
