The idea is a sort of forum for discussing what's on TV - kind of a cross between a tradition VB type site and Twitter.

The focus is on keeping the activity real time and FAST. Have a play on http://liketv.co.uk and let me know what you think of the idea.

I only wrote it over the weekend so obv many bugs and things i have forgotten. Before anyone mentions it, the leader board on the side is linked to the number of comments, not the number of likes on the page.

Pls try opening it in multiple browsers and see if they stay in sync.

Hum... I'm not seeing the sync happen automatically Twitter style. Need to refresh my browser to see any new posts.

Even if I just make a post it doesn't appear it, again I need to refresh.

Kind of like the concept though. Just trying to think how it could be useful.

EDIT:: Just thought of it. It would actually be quite handy to see what all my friends are watching so that I don't have to choose what to watch I can talk about it later with my mates. Bit lazy and makes me come across as a sheep though

Thanks for checking it out. Could you please tell me which browser you are using. I've only tested in FF and Safari so far.

Ah, sorry, Google Chrome all the way

Just tested in FF 3.6.13 and IE9 on Win 7 - same problem.

I got it refreshing automatically on OSX, Chrome.

My only guess is that you are behind some kind of firewall which blocks the ajax server. Do you only have access to port 80?

If you get a chance, could you try running this command from a terminal:

telnet liketv.co.uk 6969

you should see something like..

Trying 62.75.213.53...
Connected to liketv.co.uk.
Escape character is '^]'.
