This is the spec i've done for myself

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 LGA775 'Wolfdale' 3.00GHz (1333FSB) - Retail - (£117.49)
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (ST3250410AS) - (£35.24)
Asus ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI/HDMI (PCI-Express) - Retail - (£115.14)
Antec NSK 6580 Super Midi Tower Case - 430W Earth Watts PSU - (£68.14)
GeIL 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-8500C5 1066MHz Black Dragon DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GB24GB8500C5DC) - (£75.19)

The only thing i'm not 100% sure about is the motherboard as the £50 ones seem as good as the £150 ones to me.

I've picked this one - is this anygood for me or could i find one with better bang for buck.

Asus P5Q Intel P45 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard - (£88.11)

If there's anything else that's wrong please let me know :)

Thanks :)

Good spec, the cpu and mobo are good. I would change the hard drive to a samsung spinpoint f1 320GB for £3 more. It is faster and obviously has larger storage space.

I personally think that the case you've chosen is ugly, and would rather go for an Antec 300 + Corsair 520W modular PSU. :D

I was about to suggest the f1 drive myself, beaten to it =(

that mobo and cpu are good. you might want to get a cpu cooler though, the arctic freezer 7 pro is good bang for buck.
