Hey guys,

Someone I know was (dangerously!) going to go to the local PC shop to buy a new computer. I've saved him from the world of rip-off there and he's paying me instead :D Of course the computer's now my responsibility so I need to make sure he gets something good.

His budget doesn't exist to be honest, but it needs to be high performance yet a sensible spend of money. Apart from the fact he wants 2x500GB hard drives.

Case: Lian Li
GFX: BFG 8800GTS OC2
Mobo: Gigabyte P35 DQ6
Hard Drives: 2x WD 500GB
Optical: 1x floppy, 2x black DVDRW
Sound: use on-board sound
Network/Ethernet: as above
Processor: Q6600 95W version
Cooler: Thermalright Ultra 120 extreme + arctic silver 5
Fans: Sharkoon 1000 (x4)
PSU: corsair hx620w
Memory: Geil 2GB (800mhz C4 or 1066mhz c5?)

My main worries are: (but please leave any other comments you can think of!)
Motherboard - have I chosen the right one? Is the P35 chipset ok with the new processors?
Processor - this should be ok for a while, i mean crysis and supcom don't even use these up?
Graphics card - crysis doesn't run that well on these... any idea on when the next gen of gfx cards are coming? GFX card must be BFG of EVGA for warranty purposes :)

I will post specific questions in each forum later but just wanted a general look over my spec first! :)

Thanks in advance

For future, try the DS3R, the graphics can be the GTX, or a GT - GT is best for money.

The Q6600 is a great piece of kit.

Id get a Tuniq Tower if hes overclocking it.

The ram id try get 4GB.

Dependant on the graphics card, id say a HX520W is fine.

The Case, which one is it? Id try get the P182 for space.

I'd get the DS4, or Abit IP35 Pro, but that motherboard is still a great choice.

GFX - 8800 GT is the only graphics card over £100 I would recommend anyone buys right now.

CPU - perfect

I would only add that you could try 4 x 1GB of the OCuk 8500 RAM. Cheap and fast, so you don't need to overclock it.
