Hi all,

Looking to upgrade my setup so I only need certain parts for now. Could you check it over for me please to make sure its all compatible etc.

The parts I already have for the build taken from my old setup are:

Akasa Eclipse 32 case
Enermax galaxy 1000w
DVDRW
2 x 160gb raptors (know these could do with an upgrade too but that can come later)

Im looking to buy the following:

Asus GeForce GTX 580 1536MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £409.99

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail £184.99

Gigabyte P67A-UD4 Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - (Sandybridge) £159.98

Corsair Dominator 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMD4GX3M2A1600C9) £71.99 (is 4gb enough nowadays and is this fast??)

Corsair Hydro H50-1 High-Performance CPU Watercooler (Socket LGA775/1155/1156/1366/AM2/AM3) £61.99


Im out of the loop with the current gear to get so any pointers would be very appreciated :)

Any particular reason for the H-50? you can get similar cooling performance out of a Titan Fenrir or an Akasa Venom, for a lower price.... Unless you do want the quietness of water of course.

So with the cheaper ram there is no diff??? That card looks a beast but I have not heard of the brand before and get nervous with stuff i have no experience with heh.

@king, I did go for the h-50 primarly for noise lvl's, but also because the new air coolers seem to be huge..I currently have a tuniq tower in and because its so big, it is very near my psu which I dont like. Although there will be a rad with the h-50 i can mount it somewhere away from it which would suit me better I think.

I dug out a pic for you to show you what I mean.

If you swap the ram to the OCZ/Geil or Corsair XMS3 you can fit a big heatsink, the vengeance ram would be too tall.

Palit and gainward are one and the same.

all looks good to me :)
 
You could get the cheaper RAM, a cooler like the frio then with the money you save look to get an SSD or save up for one, definately a big improvement.
